Our story

Small batch. Big flavor. Slow mornings.

Thennal β€” meaning "flame" in Tamil β€” was started in 2021 by sisters Anjali and Reva. We grew up watching our grandmother mix batter by hand for Sunday breakfast and learned early that great baking is patience, not shortcuts.

Today we layer South Asian flavors β€” rose, cardamom, saffron, jaggery β€” with French pastry technique, baking everything from scratch each morning on Mill Street.
